Our Story

Craig and Kate met in Stellenbosch and somewhere between the dance floor of De Lapa and the vineyards of the Western Cape their love story began in July 2017. Fuelled by laughter, late nights, and a shared appreciation for good wine, their bond grew stronger with every clink of a glass.

2017 - Tin Roof Stellies. First photo together

A few months later, Craig made things official on a rainy November afternoon, perched on the iconic big red chair at Peter Falke. It was romantic, slightly soggy, and perfectly them. Not long after, while laughing on the lounge floor, Craig rolled over and casually said, “I think I love you.” Kate beamed and replied, “I think I love you too.” And just like that, the deal was sealed.

2017 - Rocking the Daisies

In 2018, they lived in separate digs just a few hundred meters apart - close enough for spontaneous visits and the start of their beloved tradition: pizza and movie nights. To this day, it's still their favourite kind of date.

2018 - Varsity Cup

Then came 2019, and with it, a plot twist. Kate moved back to Joburg to study Quantity Surveying at Wits, while Craig wrapped up his final year of Engineering at Stellies. What was once a 450-meter stroll became a 1,384 kilometer long-distance challenge. But they defied every Hallmark cliché and made it work - with frequent visits, endless calls, and one sneaky graduation appearance by Kate in December, just in time for one last Stellies hoorah with their friends.

2019 - Peter Falke Wine Farm

2020 promised a reunion... until COVID had other plans. Luckily, the Tucker and Lambert households were close enough for stealthy relays and driveway drop-offs. It was a time of deepening family bonds, and to this day, Craig and Kate count themselves lucky to have such close relationships with their soon-to-be in-laws.

2020 - Dinokeng

In 2021, Kate began working during her final undergrad year, and Craig fell head-over-heels for his second great love: golf - a sport tailor-made for his calm, level-headed nature (and occasional competitive streak).

2021 - Southbroom Golf Course

2022 was one for the books. Kate completed her Honours while working full-time, Craig shot his first hole-in-one, and they officially moved in together. Bantry, their cozy first home, has become a treasure trove of memories and will always hold a special place in their heart.

2022 - First of many bubbles at Bantry

2023 was the year of adventure. From bush to beach to France for the Rugby World Cup, Craig and Kate explored the world hand-in-hand, adding stamps to their passports, stories to their scrapbook and trips to their bucket list.

2023 - Springboks vs Scotland RWC France

Then came 2024 - arguably the best yet. The mysterious cat distribution system delivered Oliver, their oversized, cheeky, and utterly adorable ginger cat (who may or may not be violating body corporate rules). To top it all off, Craig got down on one knee during a frosty morning walk up Wrekin Hill during their December holiday to the UK. Kate, who was convinced she couldn’t be surprised, was completely blindsided in the best way possible.

2024 - Wrekin Hill Engagement

2025 has been a whirlwind of planning, dreaming, and celebrating. Craig and Kate can’t wait to share their joy with all the people who’ve been part of their journey. Here’s to 2026 - may it be even more magical.

FAQ

When Must I RSVP By?
Please RSVP as soon as you can but the deadline for RSVP's is the 15th of January 2026.

What’s the Dress Code?
The dress code is formal. Ladies are encouraged to wear elegant midi or maxi
dresses, or a chic jumpsuit—whatever makes you feel fabulous. Olive Green is
reserved for the bridal party, so please choose another shade to shine in. The
canapés will be served on grass, so if you are planning to wear heels, block or wedge
styles are recommended to keep you comfortable. Gentlemen, smart suits or dress
shirts with chinos are perfect. Please avoid jeans and sneakers.

Can I Bring My Children?
While we love your little ones, this is an adults only celebration. It’s a chance to
relax, enjoy the festivities, and take a well deserved night off.

Am I Allowed a Plus-One?
We’re keeping the guest list intimate. Unless your invitation specifically includes a
plus-one, we kindly ask that you attend solo.

What Will the Weather Be Like?
April in the Midlands is typically lovely, but the evenings can get chilly. The reception
will be indoors and the dance floor will be heating up—but if you’re prone to a chill, a
light layer is a smart move

Is the Wedding Indoors?
Weather permitting, the ceremony and canapés will be held outdoors. The reception
will take place indoors.

Will there be options for guests with dietary restrictions?
Absolutely! We want everyone to enjoy the celebration. Please let us know your dietary needs—vegetarian, vegan, allergies, or anything else—when you RSVP.

Where can I stay for the wedding weekend?
There are many wonderful places to stay in the area, but we’ve listed a selection of recommended hotels on our website to help make your planning easier. To make things even smoother, we’ll be offering shuttle services to and from these recommended hotels on the day of the wedding. When you RSVP, you’ll be able to let us know if you’d like to use the shuttle service.

Who Can I Contact If I Have Another Question?
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to either Craig or Kate.
